ISLAMABAD: I would like to comment on Mr Pitafi’s article “Bad, bad Metro service” published in The Express Tribune on June 9. I feel that the writer used only the introductory service and should instead take a ride on the regular service and experience the ‘comfort’ himself. You are ‘enjoying’ the ride on which Rs46 billion have been spent. They say that Varan bus service was much cheaper and was as comfortable as this new metro service, if not more. Again, my point being, there were better and cheaper alternatives but of course, those would not give a grandiose look to the Sharif brothers. There was absolutely no consideration of the agony faced by the residents and the shopkeepers of Murree Road and the Blue Area of Islamabad.
