It is, therefore, requested that pensions be increased by at least 30 per cent to offset inflation
RAWALPINDI: While looking forward to the budget for the next fiscal year, I would like to request the government to look into the plight of pensioners. There is no doubt that prices of certain essential commodities have taken a downward trend, yet prices of medicines, consultation fees of medical practitioners, and treatment expenses in hospitals and clinics, have all gone up considerably.
There is a rise in the prices of other items as well. It is, therefore, requested that pensions be increased by at least 30 per cent to offset the rise in afore-mentioned things to provide relief to those who rely on them completely in their old age.
