KARACHI: This is with reference to your report of December 9 titled “Pakistan need Amir, Asif for World Cup: Imran”. I disagree because we shouldn’t be including tainted cricketers in our world cup squad. Mohammad Amir is a young man who has been pushed into the limelight for all the wrong reasons. He should now bide his time and play league cricket and sharpen his understanding of ethics. Once he has done that he can then try and re-enter international cricket.
As for Mohammad Asif, the less said the better. Have we forgotten his arrest at the hands of the UAE authorities on possession of a banned substance? And what about his other troubles, especially with regard to his private life?
