I wondered how this unethical behaviour was possible in the presence of multiple cameras and security staff at airport

CHINA: While departing from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, I observed a member of the security personnel overcome with greed. The officer, whose job it was to inspect passenger luggage, asked for a bribe (kharcha, chai pani) despite knowing the passenger — a student — was not carrying any prohibited items. It was an insult to listen to such demands by the officer.

I wondered how this unethical behaviour was possible in the presence of multiple cameras and security staff throughout the airport. This was either a collaborative effort by all officers or criminal negligence by the higher authorities to check such corrupt officers. I request the Civil Aviation Authority to look into the matter and take serious action against such individuals who bring a bad name to our country.
