Stray dogs are ruthlessly killed across the country and entrails of different animals can be seen on the streets
KARACHI: A huge issue that comes to the fore when we talk about animal rights in Pakistan is that many people do not even consider the violation of animal rights to be a problem. Stray dogs are ruthlessly killed across the country and entrails of different animals can be seen on the streets. As members of a civilised society, we should not be digesting the idea of animals being killed in such brutal ways. A better strategy would be to follow the methods laid out by the World Health Organisation.
It is disappointing that this concern has been ignored by those in positions to make changes, even though the law states that no animal is to be harmed or killed without reason. District governments must also take measures to clean up animal waste as that creates health hazards.
