I hope the ‘big fish’ are also dealt with in the same manner as the smaller businesses
KARACHI: Most people living in this country do not believe that theft of electricity can actually be described as ‘theft’. These people are not to be blamed as the government and the legal system failed to establish laws and regulations in this regard in the past. Now, there is a general fear thanks to the ongoing campaign against electricity theft by K-Electric, and people have started talking about the consequences of such theft.
What surprises me is the fact that now there is a law which states that if one is found involved in electricity theft, his or her assets will be seized. I hope the ‘big fish’ are also dealt with in the same manner as the smaller businesses so that examples are set and fairness practised.
