With the induction of a new captain for ODIs, nothing much has been gained by the limited-overs team
ISLAMABAD: While Pakistan may have won the Test series against Bangladesh, their dismal performance in the One-Day International (ODI) series raises lots of questions. The team management must be held accountable for the lack of preparedness while the selection committee failed to select deserving players on merit. We are good at destroying talent by ignoring it with favouritism and nepotism ruling the roost. Misbahul Haq has been the lone crusader and made all the difference in marshalling his troops to victory in the Test series. He has consistently performed in difficult times.
With the induction of a new captain for ODIs, nothing much has been gained by the limited-overs team, with Bangladesh whitewashing Pakistan. It is important that Pakistan’s limited-overs teams are restructured so that better results can be obtained in the future.
