The human connection

Letter April 30, 2015
Relationships are built and broken on social media websites. The human connection is abysmally missing

KARACHI: Today, fear is reigning supreme. People are afraid of even their neighbours. They do not knock on one another’s doors. They do not even know who is living in their streets. They don’t care to know or connect with each other because there is either suspicion and mistrust, or people just don’t have the time in today’s fast-paced life to communicate with one another.

Majority of the people, especially the younger generation, has been hijacked by technology. Relationships are built and broken on social media websites. The human connection is abysmally missing. No one cares about neighbours or relatives anymore, only the ghosts on their cell phone screens, whom they call ‘friends’.
