It is hoped that dedicated attention towards providing relief to people will continue
LAHORE: The disaster caused by rains in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) has surprised and saddened everyone. In the wake of devastating natural calamities, any amount of relief work proves to be insufficient. However, in a very commendable gesture, the prime minister has extended a helping hand to the victims of the storm in K-P. The compensation amount of Rs0.5 million has been ordered for the families of each victim.
Moreover, the government has ordered speedy relief work in the area to minimise the damage and to make the saving of lives a priority. It is hoped that dedicated attention towards providing relief to people will continue. Much can be said about how the weather monitoring authorities should have predicted the crisis. However, this is not the time to hurl blames at each other. Right now, we must join hands and combat the challenges faced by the victims.
