We need to review our relationship with our friends and allies once again.
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to your story of December 8 by Saba Imtiaz where she discusses the influence of the Saudis over decision and policymaking in Pakistan.
In one of the WikiLeaks cable, the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan was quoted as saying that the Saudis are “not observers in Pakistan, we are participants”.
This is an alarming revelation, because the country that has always claimed sovereignty from external influence is under the influence of an apparently brotherly Muslim state. Clearly, we need to review our relationship with our friends and allies once again, because too much participation is intrusion and is certainly not needed.
