Motherhood and economic development

Letter April 23, 2015
All of us should join hands to propagate the good there is around u

RAWALPINDI: Dr Asad Zaman’s article published on April 22 “Motherhood and economic development” was spot on. He was absolutely right in pointing towards the aura of negativity plaguing the airwaves of Pakistan. When I switch on news channels, it seems as if every street and corner of Pakistan is a venue for some terrible crime scene. Yet, the good newspapers like The Express Tribune and Dawn do highlight some of the ‘heroes’ of the society. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford a secondary source of information and save myself from the headache and depression of TV news.

However, the majority of Pakistanis cannot. They are brainwashed via the constant onslaught of negativity from the media. All of us should join hands to propagate the good there is around us. It would be uplifting if we nurture and appreciate goodness, just like a mother does for her child.
