The authorities concerned are requested to regulate car ownership
KARACHI: Nowadays, it has become so easy to buy and manage a car that everyone seems to own two or more cars, even those from the lower middle class. In front of almost every house in Karachi, one will see two cars parked. Car ownership is not only increasing the traffic and pollution but the parking of these cars has also become a major issue. In every lane, there are cars on both sides. It becomes increasingly difficult nowadays for school vans and other vehicles to pass through roads during rush hours because of too many car-clogged streets. Plus, increased traffic jams also mean that people break rules more easily.
The authorities concerned are requested to regulate car ownership. Some rules should be implemented regarding this issue. Not only will more checks and balances for the issuance of car licences solve the traffic problem, it will also put a check on the problem of frequent road accidents, regular flouting of traffic rules and all kinds of atmospheric pollution.
