Pakistan and Israel

Letter December 06, 2010
The question that comes to my mind is that why does Israel feel so threatened by Pakistan.

KARACHI: This is with reference to your report of December 1 titled “WikiLeaks: ISI chief met Israelis to stop India attack”. It is really no secret that Pakistan has maintained secret communication with Israel, despite the fact that it does not formally recognise Israel’s existence. I have read a book by a former Mossad agent — by the name of Gideon’s spies — which claimed that a Pakistani intelligence agency helped Mossad agents in spying on one of Pakistan’s neighbours. I have also read about deep penetration inside Pakistan by Mossad and this includes plans for eventualities such as a takeover of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal by extremists. The book also devoted several pages to an alleged Mossad plan to take out a senior Pakistani involved in its nuclear weapons programme.

The question that comes to my mind is that why does Israel feel so threatened by Pakistan.
