LONDON: This is with reference to a report in your newspaper of December 3 titled “Cyber war escalates: Pakistan hackers take revenge”. From my own experience with Indians, I don’t know how one can have an intelligent conversation with them. Normally countries talk business and indulge in give-and-take. For example, America says to Pakistan that some of your people are causing trouble for us (America) and we say that fine, let us do something about it and in return, you do something for us.
With India, we say let’s talk on Kashmir, but the Indians say no we will not talk on Kashmir — and then they tell us that we should dismantle the Lashkar-e-Taiba. We say fine, let’s talk on water issues, and the Indians say no we will not talk on water with you but you better end your cooperation with China in Gilgit-Baltistan. We still say okay, and then tell the Indians to talk on Afghanistan, and the Indians — yet again — say no, stop expanding your nuclear weapons arsenal. My point is that this isn’t going to get us — or the Indians — anywhere.
