We need to learn from our mistakes and try to overcome them
KARACHI: With the loss in the quarter-final to Australia, our World Cup journey has come to an end. I know we could have performed better, batted better, bowled better and fielded better. Yes, I know it is heart-wrenching to see your team lose, especially if it is an important match. But I also believe that our team gave their best — they were just not lucky on that day.
Misbahul Haq’s captaincy in the World Cup was commendable, while Wahab Riaz’s and Mohammad Irfan’s bowling was brilliant. Sarfraz Ahmed also performed creditably and there were several other players who did a good job. This is not the end for the Pakistan cricket team. What is needed now is that we learn from our mistakes and try to overcome them.
