We need to have a clear plan to get rid of the menace of load-shedding.
LAHORE: It is a nightmare these days if you want to watch World Cup matches. These are often interrupted by load-shedding, which has increased during February and March. Such a thing can happen only in Pakistan. The government has not yet explored the various avenues and options to at least reduce the shortages and outages. We need to have a clear plan to get rid of the menace of load-shedding. But does anyone care about this? Our industrial base has dwindled due to the energy crisis. This burgeoning crisis has disrupted the lives of the citizens of this country.
The government has started taking people for granted. Even the recent petroleum crisis did not result in true accountability for those involved in creating the petrol shortage. The government seems content with the present condition. I urge the authorities concerned to consider the problems of the people of this country and address the issue seriously. I hope the media would also report on the issue to the fullest possible extent to push policymakers into taking action.
