My world, my kitchen

Letter November 30, 2010
Cooking channels help groom women in various aspects and not just in those related to cooking.

MAKKAH: This is with reference to a recent report in your newspaper titled “Chefs of Pakistan: Brewing up a career”. Times have changed and cooking is now accepted as a worthy profession. No longer is a man going to be called a ‘khansama’ if he chooses to become a chef. Cooking channels help groom women in various aspects and not just in those related to cooking. For instance, they train women how to quickly prepare meals for unexpected guests and so on. They also enable the women of today to gain self-confidence which can help them in their lives in general.
