Pakistan’s new cruise missile

Letter February 06, 2015
It is a timely display of power for achieving strategic stability and balance of power in the region

LAHORE: Pakistan successfully conducted a test flight of the indigenously manufactured cruise missile Raad, which is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads at the range of 350 kilometres. The missile additionally has the strategic stand-off capability at sea and at land, and important stealth ability to escape radar detection.

It is undoubtedly not only an extremely valuable addition to our defence artillery, but is also evidence of the finesse and expertise of our scientists. Moreover, it is a timely display of power for achieving strategic stability and balance of power in the region. It is heartening to know that Pakistan’s government and armed forces are vigilant regarding the soft and hard, diplomatic and military defence, of our beloved motherland.
