A land of no law

Letter November 29, 2010
Most of our elected representatives are, in fact, not all that representative of the general population.

SARGODHA: This is with reference to your report of November 27 by Rauf Klasra titled “Land allotments: Verbal orders trump proper procedure”.

In Pakistan we have a situation where the law doesn’t really work and where those in charge of running the country have no idea, nor any concern, for the pains and problems experienced by the majority of Pakistanis. Our mullahs preach the virtues of an Islamic education and are big defenders of madrassas and jihad but most of the children of their leadership study in institutions in America and Britain. The result is that most of our elected representatives are, in fact, not all that representative of the general population.
