Avoiding blackouts

Letter January 27, 2015
The civic system of any country depicts that country’s government’s on-ground efforts to facilitate the citizens

LAHORE: As reported in the newspapers, the government has sought technical assistance from China and the US to avoid recurrent nationwide power blackouts. It is an appreciative decision taken by the government, which will foil the mal-intended and unexpected disruptions by elements trying to sabotage the civic system of the country.

Moreover, the government has also vowed to enhance the security of the power transmission line so as to avoid attacks on them in the future. On the other hand, the prime minister has ordered immediate disbursement of the Rs40 billion to Pakistan State Oil for replenishing the oil supply line. The civic system of any country depicts that country’s government’s on-ground efforts to facilitate the citizens. Our civic system offers great room for improvement; however, it is heartening that the government is moving in the right direction in the wake of this challenging situation.
