KARACHI: With reference to Ayesha Ijaz Khan’s article of November 26 titled “Is Dubai safe?”, I would say absolutely. The city is much safer than Pakistan and the ratio of crime has no comparison with that of so-called democratic states.
As for the issue of lack of media freedom, it seems that the writer is making an argument just for the sake of it. The city state has laws that protect women, the poor, the weak and the downtrodden. In any case, what does having labour unions or political parties have anything to do with safety and security?
