What more evidence is needed?

Letter November 27, 2010
Ajmal Kasab has named people in the Pakistan establishment whom he says helped and trained him and his colleagues.

COIMBATORE, INDIA: This is with reference to a report in your newspaper of November 26 titled “Mumbai attacks 2008: Foreign Office says ISI being dragged into trial”.

What kind of evidence is good enough for Islamabad? Ajmal Kasab has named people in the Pakistan establishment whom he says helped and trained him and his colleagues. Pakistan’s own media traced Kasab’s family to a village in southern Punjab. David Headley has reportedly corroborated much of this and names people in Pakistan as well, whom he says were involved in the funding and training.

In a way, it has been good for India that Pakistan is still in denial because it shows to the rest of the world exactly how out of tune Pakistan is with reality. From the foreign policy perspective, it will serve India more if Pakistan keeps denying the charges.
