Mountains out of molehills

Letter January 18, 2015
It is entirely possible that the domestic abuse Reham has talked about perhaps did not entail physical violence

This is with reference to the entire controversy regarding the alleged domestic violence that Reham Khan has talked about and the refutation of those allegations by her ex-husband. It should be noted here that in her televised interview, Reham Khan had referred to domestic ‘abuse’ not ‘violence’. She also explained that abuse can be of many types. Therefore, it is entirely possible that the domestic abuse she has talked about perhaps did not entail physical violence.

In that case, both Reham Khan and her ex-husband may be right. You do not necessarily have to hit someone in order to abuse them. The unnecessary controversy that the media has created, therefore, is entirely uncalled for.
