Sukkur experiences an acute shortage of potable water. This is the result of sheer negligence by NSUSC management

SHIKARPUR: The Sindh government had constituted a company named North Sindh Urban Services Corporation (NSUSC) to improve infrastructure and ensure provision of efficient service delivery in the field of water supply, drainage, sanitation and solid waste management. Initially, this pilot project was introduced in old Sukkur, new Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Khairpur and Larkana.

The citizens/residents of the cities included in the pilot project of the NSUSC face the problem of choked sewerage lines, overflowing gutters, heaps of garbage on roads and streets and an acute shortage of drinking water. The defective sewerage and drainage system has played havoc with the lives of residents of the cities. The residents of the city of Shikarpur are the worst sufferers. Sukkur experiences an acute shortage of potable water. This is the result of sheer negligence by the management of the NSUSC at all levels. There is a dire need of installation for a proper sewerage system to improve unhealthy conditions to protect people, especially children, from various critical diseases.
