KHUZDAR: There is no denying the fact that the deputy commissioner of Khuzdar has proved his mettle in terms of improving the law and order situation in the area. People of Khuzdar have gotten rid of the menace posed by targeted killings, extortion and chaos. However, there is still one problem that they are faced with and about which nothing substantial has been done. They have been deprived of some basic privileges in the shape of a ban on pillion-riding for more than half a year. Most people in Khuzdar do not have any means of transport apart from motorcycles and they face hindrances to making use of even this mode of conveyance. The ban on pillion-riding raises a lot of questions: will the law and order situation only remain calm if pillion-riding is banned; do our law-enforcement agencies have the potential to maintain law and order without disturbing the daily lives of citizens?
We are indeed indebted to the deputy commissioner and his team for their remarkable performance in maintaining law and order in the area but we also request them to solve the issue of pillion-riding and help make life easier for the residents of Khuzdar.
