Democratic governments have failed to introduce and implement reforms in Fata.
ISLAMABAD: With reference to a report in your newspaper by Shahid Hamid titled “Govt. plans to absorb, bifurcate tribal areas” (November 23), I would say successive governments in Pakistan have promised to develop the tribal areas. But so far nothing has been done. Democratic governments have failed to introduce and implement reforms in Fata and it seems that even the present government and the military establishment seem more interested in maintaining the status quo. This is bad news for the people of the region.
