Traffic problems

Letter December 11, 2014
The authorities must get their act together and take action on these fronts on an urgent basis

HUB: I am a citizen of the city of Hub and anxious about the progress of my beautiful city. We face many issues in the city such as a water crisis, bribery, negligence by the police, etc.

But the most pressing issue we face is of road accidents and the consequent negligence by the police. The main RCD road of Balochistan which connects the province to Sindh passes from Hub city. It seems that there is no respect for law, traffic signals and no one follows rules and regulations when they are driving on this road. Drivers seem to violate almost all traffic rules, including over-speeding, frequent lane-changing and passing from one way. Vehicles and buses are driven while the drivers freely use cell phones, which routinely causes accidents. There are unregistered drivers, who have no licence and many of them are underage. The authorities must get their act together and take action on these fronts on an urgent basis.
