Due to lack of education, people are often not aware of the economic problems caused by a high birth rate
KARACHI: Pakistan is known to be one of the fastest growing countries in the world. Today, the country’s population growth is one of the highest in the world.
Due to lack of education, people are often not aware of the economic problems caused by a high birth rate. There are many disastrous effects of overpopulation, such as a low per capita income, high unemployment, low growth rate in the agriculture sector, low savings, low investments, a high rate of inflation, pollution, backward social infrastructure, the vicious circle of poverty, low living standards, an adverse balance of payments, reduction in wage rates and an increase in the dependence ratio. The state and society clearly needs to take all these problems into account and deal with overpopulation in an effective manner.
