Persons sitting on the steering wheel do not seem to have any regard for traffic rules
RAWALPINDI: Through your newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the increasing number of road accidents all over the country. Road accidents are on the rise in our big cities as well as in rural areas, where the causes of accident may be the poor state of roads. In cities, the major cause seems to be reckless driving.
Persons sitting on the steering wheel do not seem to have any regard for traffic rules. Over-speeding, skipping red lights and overtaking from the wrong side is normal practice. In most cases, those who flout the law escape unpunished due to their social status and our corrupt bureaucracy. Every year, a large number of people die in road accidents. The time has come to start a movement against reckless driving.
