Majority of the outfits available in designer outlets are so expensive that only the elite class can shop from there
RAWALPINDI: In developing countries like Pakistan, many people are deprived of even the basic and essential needs of life. They do not have enough food to eat. But some naive people in our society are still very much conscious about brands and throw away tonnes of money just to update their wardrobes every season. Women are seen to make their way to exhibitions and sales where they throw away their hard-earned money on overpriced clothes and shoes, while swarms of people in the country are steeped in poverty.
Majority of the outfits available in designer outlets are so expensive that only the elite class can shop from there. Every brand owner wants to produce something different and unique so that their customers can aspire to a certain status by using their products. And the customers, especially the youth, toe their line blindly, with little thought about the consequences. Because people spend so much money on useless, extravagant shopping ventures, they have little left for charity and as a result, a stifling status quo is set up.
