Baloch students are studying in Punjab and Sindh, but not in Balochistan because of lack of universities
LASBELA: Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan in terms of area and is full of natural resources. However, unfortunately, Balochistan does not have many educational facilities. There are only a few large universities in the province, even though there is an immediate need to build a good university for the many bright and ambitious students in the province.
I have researched and found out that people lead very simple lives in most parts of Balochistan. They are living in severe conditions and do not want to change themselves because there is a lack of awareness regarding what could make life easier for them. Our stakeholders and political representatives pay no attention to their plight. I have seen that our students are engaged in party and nationalist politics instead of getting an education. I ask the chief minister of Balochistan: do you remember your promises? Baloch students are studying in Punjab and Sindh, but not in Balochistan because of lack of universities and PhD-holders who could teach in Balochistan. A huge chunk of our national budget goes to defence. Why cannot some of it be spent on the education sector in Balochistan? I request the national and provincial authorities to pay attention to this area. It is, after all, a question of our children’s future.
