Many people are unaware of the law, which says that one must give way to ambulances on roads
KARACHI: Pakistan has the world’s largest ambulance services, with thousands of ambulances working every day. But what is the advantage of having the largest service when our own people create hurdles in the path of what it is trying to achieve?
Many people are unaware of the law, which says that one must give way to ambulances on roads. People simply refuse to give way to all emergency transport vehicles, including ambulances, fire trucks, etc. Delaying these vehicles even by a few minutes can be a question of life and death for many. All the authorities concerned and traffic departments must prevent ambulances from getting stuck in traffic jams. Moreover, they must penalise vehicles that refuse to give way and also must create awareness about this issue.
