Maligning Pakistan

Letter November 17, 2014
Such opinions are highlighted in the media only to demoralise the armed forces of Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: The recent report published by the Pentagon, which accuses Pakistan of being insincere in its efforts against terrorism cited in these words, “proxy forces to hedge against the loss of influence in Afghanistan and to counter India’s superior military”. Such reports are not new for us as the US has the habit of showing its displeasure to Pakistan often — usually just for the sake of maligning the country. The recent report came at a very critical point when the Pakistani armed forces are busy in Operation Zarb-e-Azb and require international support, which unfortunately is missing like always. Pakistan has suffered a lot because of the ongoing war against terrorism and still there is no recognition of our sacrifices.

Such opinions are highlighted in the media only to demoralise the armed forces of Pakistan. We, as a nation, have to unanimously face such designs by foreign powers that are detrimental to our national interest.
