Why are they not doing anything to prevent such crimes from happening?
KARACHI: There has been an alarming rise in street crimes in Karachi. The metropolis is once again in the grip of a new wave of such crimes, resulting in a sense of insecurity amongst the city dwellers. Even with the change in government, the grievances faced by the people have not reduced. Rather, new dimensions have been added to them. Street crime has unfortunately become a regular feature in Karachi. Armed robberies, snatching valuable possessions, hijacking vehicles, assault and muggings are part and parcel of Karachi life. These criminals come well armed and well prepared to execute crimes by overpowering their victims with fear and weapons. As a result, victims, normally blue-collar citizens, are deprived of their hard-earned money and valuables.
I felt so disappointed after hearing that Abdul Sattar Edhi was also robbed, with the robbers taking money, valuables and funds that he had gathered to help the poor and needy. Why is the government silent? Why are the authorities silent? Why are they not doing anything to prevent such crimes from happening?
