Operation Zarb-e-Azb

Letter November 01, 2014
It is hoped that our government will succeed in acquiring required cooperation from Afghanistan

LAHORE: One of the positive and long-lasting decisions of the present government was to fully endorse a military operation against the militants and terrorists in the country’s northwest. As recently reported by the DG ISPR, Operation Zarb-e-Azb is successfully proceeding as per plan against the militants and their bases.

Rehabilitation work is in progress in the areas so far cleared of terrorists in North Waziristan and the military has said that it is fully determined to root out this menace permanently from all the affected areas. The ISPR has also reported that Afghanistan is not cooperating as yet in terms of taking care of terrorists’ bases on its side of the border. It is hoped that our government, which is trying to foster good neighbourly relations with the newly-elected Afghanistan government, will succeed in acquiring the required cooperation from Afghanistan in order to have lasting and effective peace in the region.
