Child labour has become an alarming issue, particularly in industries that make sports good carpets, auto workshops.
ISLAMABAD: A 14-year-old child was standing beside a traffic signal. He was waiting for some hope which would knock his heart and bring some good news, but suddenly the hope disappeared because the orange light changed to green. He is an orphan and shouldering responsibility to feed his younger siblings by begging in different areas. Child labour has become an alarming issue, particularly in the industries that make sports good and carpets, and in auto workshops. I urge all the authorities concerned and civil society to take cognisance of this social evil.
