In countries like ours, people feel proud violating rules and laws. We do not need any new laws
KARACHI: In developed countries, rule of law is considered to be one of the most important factors contributing towards social development. In developing countries, however, rule of law is not given its due importance, ironically by the governments themselves.
In countries like ours, people feel proud violating rules and laws, and those who do abide by them, are usually considered fools. We need to rid ourselves of this self-destructive tendency. We do not need any new laws; the ones we have are more than enough. But what we do need is the proper implementation of existing laws.
