KARACHI: I write this after reading a report in your newspaper by Rana Tanveer “Another blasphemy accused killed”.
If we knew our history we would know that the people of Taif were saved from destruction by the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and these were the same people who had abused him and thrown stones at him. Hinda, who had eaten the liver from the corpse of the Prophet’s (pbuh) uncle after a battle, was forgiven. When the woman who every day threw garbage on the Holy Prophet (pbuh) fell ill, he visited her.
So my question is what version of our faith are these murderers, the ones who go about killing others for alleged blasphemy, following?
