UN needs to wake up to its responsibilities, people of Kashmir have been waiting too long to give up on their case now
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has urged the UN to play its due role in resolving the Kashmir dispute, citing ceasefire violations by the Indian Army over Eidul Azha. Pakistan has called upon the world body to exercise its responsibility in resolving the dispute. Pakistan’s Ambassador at the UN, Masood Khan, has also called upon the Indian government to immediately cease fire and has said that Pakistan is pursuing a policy of constructive engagement in the neighbourhood to resolve differences and to enhance economic opportunities for the region.
The UN needs to wake up to its responsibilities and the people of Kashmir have been waiting too long to give up on their case now. Let us hope some way out of this impasse is found.
