When a driver enters Islamabad, it is as if he has entered a different country
RAWALPINDI: Though Islamabad and Rawalpindi are not all that far apart, but it still seems both have two very different kinds of traffic systems. In Rawalpindi’s case, the traffic congestion and jams are a part of daily routine. In contrast, in Islamabad, it seems that every motorist follows the traffic laws. When a driver enters Islamabad, it is as if he has entered a different country. Seat belts are to be worn and are mandatory, the traffic is orderly, and the traffic police officers are always alert and enforce the laws.
So, who is to blame for the existence of two completely contrasting traffic systems in Islamabad and Rawalpindi? The blame lies on the shoulders of the traffic authorities in Rawalpindi, who do not do anything to implement basic traffic laws. They need to enforce the law and ensure that it is followed by everyone without any exception.
