Convicted of blasphemy (II)

Letter November 13, 2010
I am ashamed of being Pakistani — and this isn’t the first time.

LONDON: I am ashamed of being Pakistani — and this isn’t the first time. The clerics and the judge who sentenced the woman have made a laughing stock of us and our religion. Can the judge give even one example where the Holy Prophet (Pbuh) punished someone for speaking out against him and that too without any solid evidence?

The Holy Prophet (pbuh) even led the funeral prayers of Abdullah bin Ubay bin Sulul, one of his most vocal critics. He understood Islam much better than anyone else can and if he did not give any punishment for such things, who are we to?
