The government, especially the prime minister, should have gone to the protesters and negotiated with them.
LAHORE: The government is in a cul de sac that only seems to lead towards the resignation of the prime minister. Crisis comes in the way of great nations and it is during those times, nations expect their leaders to get them out of it.
We are in a whirlpool of crisis and our nation is expecting solutions from our leaders, however, they are destined to meet with disappointment and disillusionment.
There are thousands of Pakistanis protesting against the incumbent government and asking the prime minister to resign from his post. By not taking the crisis seriously and not resolving it with a political vision, the government has forced itself into a cul-de-sac. People who have assembled and chosen to protest in Islamabad are not ready to go back to their homes until they get the resignation from the prime minister, and not till all their demands are met.
The federal capital of Pakistan has been paralysed for more than a month and the government is entirely to be blamed for it. The government, especially the prime minister, should have gone to the protesters and negotiated with them. However, the prime minister chose to send his ministers for the negotiations on his behalf and all those negotiations earned nothing except a deadlock at the end. Hence, this is a political crisis which needs a political solution that is yet to come.
