I hope that the government will further work towards the complete rehabilitation of these affected families.
LAHORE: Eid is a festive occasion for Muslims around the world but sadly the devastating monsoon flood this year has left thousands of families homeless in Pakistan. The families that have lost their dear ones, belongings and their homes cannot seem to imagine celebrating Eid this year. It is a dark time for them, financially as well as emotionally.
The Government of Pakistan has announced that it will work on a complete rehabilitation project and that a thorough estimation of the damages is underway. It has announced that it will help the distressed families by giving Rs25,000 to each one of them in hopes of making their Eid a little better. They may not be able to buy their lost belongings and rebuild their damaged homes with this amount, but the idea is to bring a smile on their faces in order for them to try and forget about their worries for one day. At least this gesture will assure them that the government is trying to rehabilitate them and improve their lives.
I hope that the government will further work towards the complete rehabilitation of these affected families with zest, sincerity and priority.
