A rickshaw driver’s child and a tandoorwala’s son secured top positions in Intermediate examinations.
LAHORE: We have seen examples of a rickshaw driver’s child and a tandoorwala’s son getting top positions in Intermediate examinations. This goes to show that hard work and determination always pays off, even if the system is flawed.
These were both students who went to an inferior quality government school, didn’t have any money to take private tuitions, and certainly didn’t have the kind of background that one expects of position-holders. What is special about their achievement is that despite the system and despite the fact that it is heavily pitted against them, they managed to come out with flying colours.
I salute students such as these.
