If we develop our infrastructure instead of fighting over petty politics, we can put an end to deaths of our citizens.
KARACHI: Pakistan has faced many floods since its birth on August 14, 1947. It has a semi-natural problem and almost every year it faces the problem of floods due to the monsoon rainfall. Pakistan loses a large amount of its wealth on maintaining affected areas and providing basic needs to those who are affected. If only our leaders would wake up from their deep slumber they would realise that the current crisis affecting Punjab — and will soon affect Sindh — can be averted. It seems that the value of life in Pakistan is very cheap, especially that of the common man. If we develop our infrastructure instead of fighting over petty politics and let gallons of water rage onto our less favoured localities, we can put an end to the deaths of our citizens.
