Media has, through live coverage, proven to the nation that parliamentarians are insensitive to the country’s problems
KARACHI: For the past two days, the entire nation has been watching the live proceedings of the joint session of Parliament, courtesy the free media, for which the media deserves to be congratulated. Also, the fact that the dharnas are being telecast live for the past two weeks is a great contribution of the media for awareness purposes. It is indeed unfortunate that the parliamentarians have been exposed as being cut off from the common people and reality and being more concerned with the sanctity of Parliament.
The media has, through its live coverage, proven to the nation that our parliamentarians are insensitive to the country’s problems and with due respect to them, are more interested in maintaining their privileges and power along with justifying double standards of their democracy. It is indeed disappointing for Pakistan to have such people running the country, managing its affairs and being role models for the rest of us. No wonder we have a low status and an extremely poor image in the international community.
