A leaderless nation

Letter August 02, 2014
The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of so-called political leaders who were leading the country in the past.

ISLAMABAD: I fully agree with the views expressed in Shamshad Ahmed’s article (August 2). I do not agree with the persons who blame the army for taking over the administration of the country at various times in the past. The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of so-called political leaders who were leading the country in the past. Every time that the politicians failed a vacuum was created which had to be filled by the armed forces, they being the only disciplined force in the country. If the army did not intervene the country would have gone down the drain.
