Do the critics of the present dispensation want another martial law to be imposed?
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Wajahat Latif’s article of November 8 titled “The sinking ship”. I would totally disagree with the writer. The PPP won a majority of seats in the recent by-elections so I fail to understand how it can be said that the ship is sinking. The government is being targeted by other institutions of state and it seems that those who write these kind of articles cannot see that. What about the Sharif brothers whose cases are also pending in the courts?
After the prolonged bouts of dictatorship that Pakistan has experienced, it will take some time and some doing for democracy to grow. We need to be patient and give elected governments a chance. Do the critics of the present dispensation want another martial law to be imposed?
