Dying for work in India?

Letter November 06, 2010
It seems as if Begum Nawazish Ali is dying for work in India.

ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to your report of Oct 25 titled “Begum Nawazish Ali to sort out matters with Shiv Sena”.

I used to find him amusing and entertaining but now I hate him after what he said in one of his interviews to an Indian publication: “I saw no logic behind this kind of a protest. I didn’t choose to be born in Pakistan. It’s something that just happened to me. If I was born in Mumbai, I’d have been an Indian. Sixty-three years ago we were one nation.”

What does he mean by this? Could he please clarify?

He also said: “At the moment, Pakistan is plagued with problems and entertainment is not a priority there. I am an entertainer and India can provide me with lots of work. When I come to India, I don’t come as a Pakistani. I come here as an actor. If I get work, of course I’ll return.”

It seems as if Begum Nawazish Ali is dying for work in India.
