LAHORE: The security situation in Karachi has been a constant source of concern for leaders, people and the country at large. The ongoing targeted operation in Karachi is a long-term and patience-testing endeavour. Owing to its initial success, the operation is still going on and trying to bring peace to the economic hub of the country.
The prime minister has visited Karachi and has told the provincial machinery to keep the targeted operation in the right and productive direction. It is said that the federal government will fully support and cooperate with the provincial set-up. In this regard, the IG Sindh will be appointed in consultation with the Sindh government so that the operation does not get affected due to political considerations. It is hoped that good will, dedication to bring peace and sincerity shown by the federal government aligned with provincial stakeholders will soon usher in an era of peace and harmony in Karachi. Karachi has been suffering too much for too long.
